Wow..the amount of sexual flirtation and teasing to the"eye". I bet the Malaysian Film Board are probably having a tough time with censorship. So if you have not watched the movie then I suggest to please DO NOT continue reading.
Just a warn, this is not any stereotypical romantic movie. The storyline is a whole different one. The movie Nine starts with the protagonist Guido, a famous movie director directing his next big film named "Italia". This movie revolves around Guido's life, now having to experience his biggest downfall of his career; when a director loses his creativity. Trying to water the seeds of his artistry, he seeks ideas from those who inspired, influenced and supported his life. Hard to believe that most of these influential people were actually females. Guido is such a womanizer.
What I really love about this movie is the use of musical acts to portray an idea or to deliver an idea. Each of the seven females have their very own musical act which was perfectly orchestrated
Guido escapes his press conference and he settles for a hotel. After calling his wife and persuading her to not "make" such an effort to come and visit him when he was mentally "tiring" sick, Guido calls his long time lover and admirer.
Played by the sexy Spanish goddess, Miss Penelope Cruz is Carla, Guido's long time mistress. Carla gave a sexy steamy seductive musical scene confessing her love, lust and sexual tension for Guido.A flashback scene showing Guido's first encounter with a woman, a stripper/whore name Saraghina played by Miss Fergie. This started Guido's intuition of the female body; temptation of the female body is what mainly and made a part of Guido. The scene encourages Guido's love for women. It's like stirring a bowl of hot fun sex.
Luisa Contini played by Marion Cotillard is Guido's beloved wife. Her part of the musical confesses her love for her husband, how she struggles and scarifices for her husband. Was an actress but ended her career to be her directors wife.
And who will not forget the amazing American journalist, Stephanie played by Kate Hudson. Full of life and energy, her musical act is a depiction of how Guido is in the limelight of fashion and stars. How exciting it is to be in an Italian movie, the men, the designers and the fashion. Life of the glamor stream. Like playing with fire, Guido was with her when he had a huge arguement with his wife. Well Im not going to tell you what happens, so you got to watch the movie :)
The star of Guido's movies, the lovely and classy, the bishop's favourite Miss Claudia, played by Nicole Kidman. She sang of what is love and that love is a lie, whether to love or to not love. She assisted Guido, making him realized that he has taken far too much for granted. He had the fame, he had the support, most of all he had the love.
Last is the two women who were not Guido's love interest but he gave them unconditional love for who they are. His Mamma and Lilli his movie costume designer. Lilli played by Judi Dench is the person who Guido seeks advice from. He tries to escape his daily troubles and consults Lilli for advise. Mamma however played by the famous and beautiful Sophia Loren appears in and out of Guido's life like an imaginary friend. She is not real in the movie but she still appears to give Guido encouragement even if its just only by her presence.
A man's greatest fall and weakness is women. How women create desires and infatuation, or it could be just plain simple love. Distract, mislead, guide or encourage, it took seven women to mold a man. Nine was bloody hell good and I love it!!!

Classy Killing
I first watched the Silence Of The Lambs starring Jodie Foster as the first Agent Starling (leading lady of the movie) on tv and I soon grew fond of this peculiar character called Lecter. I know Hannibal has been an old movie but I cant recall ever watching it. Directed by Ridley Scott and from a Thomas Harris novel, Hannibal Lecter kept me thinking.
From the beginning when he was first introduced in Silence Of The Lambs, he was an intriguing character which helped assist Agent Starling with the capture of Buffalo Bill. Soon after his escape in movie 1# then his story starts to develop in movie 2# Hannibal.
In the movie Hannibal, what's interest me most is his character that grew a certain fond and connection with Miss Agent Starling. I cant seem to understand how and why does he not kill Agent Starling?? Since she's the only one that Lecter has been giving chances to allow his capture. I may not possess a criminal mind, but its in human nature that when you're being chase at, most humans would run. Yet Lecter keeps on teasing and encouraging Starling, how he calls her by her first name Clarice. Its funny how certain criminals develop a bond with their foe.
"So what do ya think, Cordell? Does Lecter want to fuck her or kill her or eat her alive?", Mason Verger.
He didn't kill her, He didn't eat her and He sure didn't hurt her. Well I would say he would have love her. He stitched up her bullet wound, bought her a pair of Gucci heels. Part of his crime master plan, a tease or a mere symbol of affection and love? I would love to further understand this connection of enemy and ally.
His methods of killings are Lecter's art form. With his cool and calm traits, he is able to cannibalize on his victims without being incarcerated. Disgusted by his acts but adore his mind and thoughts. He is one of my favorites.

I was sick to my Brains
For the past week I had been ill from the base of my cranium to the vertebra, ligaments and muscles that are holding what seems to be one of the most essentials of my body, my pathetic "known to bring me more problems" head. My forehead was an over boiled engine and my neck are like toothpicks, tiny and breakable. Also another contributing factor to my unwell being is the weather and despite my uneasiness I was able to use whats left of my senses, bedridden of cos, the only activity I was able to participate is to give allowance to the known addictive devil of man kind, the Media or in layman's terms the wonderful Television.
I watched episodes of "whats to be taught of life" or shall I say depictions of imaginations of what life is to be or not to be. Being bored out of the regular normality of life depictions on the television, Ive resulted to watching some newly bought DVDs from my brother and I have realized something that I should have a long time ago. I can strongly admit that movies give a better understanding to the message that it is trying to convey. Movies have a better pushing or persuasion power or shall I say force that could manipulate, deteriorate, and empower all average people.
I had a blog once and truth be told, that blog is pure rubbish. It was full of hatred, anger and most of all it was the childlike me when I was in high school. Well age does wonders and I decided to blog again merely to ease my mental thoughts and release all thats been cooped up in this tiny vessel up somewhere in my brain. I just thought that it would be good to have an area to channel all this energy.
